In lieu of a traditional Wedding registry, we have set up a fund that will go towards two things!
The first is to go towards travel accommodations for anyone we’ve invited to make the trip but cannot, for whatever reason, financially make it work. It’s our party, and we invited people we want to be there, and we want to make sure cost is not preventing anyone from attending, and that’s first where this fund would come in. It is not lost on us that this is a destination wedding for many, and flying across the country and taking time off work for this is, objectively, very silly. People could be taking a train through the French Alps or fighting kangaroos with their bare hands in Australia, but instead they’re taking probably at least a day off work, if not more, to go to a remote part of Southern Maine to see true love incarnate with their own two eyes.

The remaining amount in the fund post-wedding planning is just a “future” fund. House (lol), honeymoon, travel, the pizza we plan on eating next week, if it’s in the future big or small, that fund is probably going towards it.
